Today is Saturday, May 17th, 2025.

I have already finished 11 weeks out of 16 here at CIJ Academy in Liloan, Philippines.

For a long time, I had a strong desire to study English—especially speaking.

In my mid-60s, I finally made a big decision and came here to study.

I chose CIJ Academy, and I see this as my last chance to truly focus on English.

Because of that, I chose the Sparta course, and I spend almost all my time in the self-study room.

My day starts at 6:30 a.m. with a vocabulary test.

Then I have 11 hours of one-on-one classes.

Finally, my day ends at 8:30 p.m. with a phrasal verb test.

I even changed all my classes to one-on-one, so now I study full-time, 11 hours a day.

Sometimes I feel tired, but I enjoy it so much.

I’m especially happy that I can now have casual conversations with my teachers, even if it's in broken English.

I just hope I can stay healthy for the rest of the weeks.

This journey is not easy, but it’s meaningful and exciting for me.
